Deception

When I look in the mirror,
I often wonder,
If everyone else is aware
of my every blunder.

A cool, composed,
and confident me,
Is apparently what
they seem to see.

But all the things
they think they see,
I think do not really
exist in me.

Do people think
I do as I may,
Or that I have
figured out my way?

There are people who
think I am actually smart,
There are people who
believe I am good at art.

But from everyone
I am concealing,
My true nature,
will they be revealing,

When they find out
that I am deceiving,
Or in myself should I
start believing?

I fear everyone will
discover that in reality,
I’m not that wonderful
in actuality.

    1. Thank you very much! I feel the same way, it’s much easier to connect with people and form real bonds when we open up about such things! It is also a reminder to be grateful of what we have because everyone is going through their own turmoil that is unknown to us, and usually all we can see is their happy highlights.
