Your smile

The salt in the air doesn’t bother me,
Nor does the bittersweet aftertaste of his kiss,
No, it’s your sugary smile that petrifies me,
Something I fear that I would miss.

The venom of the snake penetrates my skin,
But all it takes is a look in your eyes,
To forget every moment, every sin,
And the flash of pain nullifies,

Removing the poison from my veins,
You work your way into me patiently,
Over my heart I let you take the reins,
And you consume me gallantly.
